Liszt vertanzt

Liszt vertanzt

With music by
Franz Liszt and Franz Schubert

It is Franz Liszts sympathy for the music of Franz Schubert, documented in a number of transcriptions, that is the musical link for this ballet evening.

In the first part we hear Franz Schuberts Sonata in A Major (D 959), a piece composed in the last months of his life.

The second part combines, under the titel "The suspended house" Liszts Hungarian Rhapsodies Nr.10 and 19 with two "Legends" from the later part of his life. "These wonderfull open pieces of musik" are the inspirational starting points which let the audience immerse into countless choreographic pictures.
