Music by Johannes Brahms and Antonin Dvořak
A lot is happening in Baptistas Bar. His stubborn daughter Katharina doesn't make it easy for him or his guests, quite contrary to the sweet Bianca who can hardly keep off all her admirers. But Baptista insists : Bianca can not get married until Katharina has found a husband. Biancas admirers find help in the shrewd Petruchio, who has his own ways to tame Katharina with the help of his comic entourage.
Andris Plucis lets Shakespeares famous comedy take place in the colorful Italian background of the 50's with excursions to the Adams Family of the 60's. Brahms Hungarian dances and Dvořaks Slavonic dances build the musical underscore of this very lively ballet.
